LINDSEY STREET PROPOSED SITE

  • Site is an ancient grass meadow which has never been ploughed

  • Site used for children’s riding lessons and by local riding clubs. Significant impact to business aspect of the farm

  • Site unsuitable for residential usage due to noise and dust all year round from the farm

  • Site has only one access point straight on to the busy B181 a poorly lit narrow road with a history of fatalities and accidents due to poor lighting and visibility and narrow pavements.  There will already be traffic increase with the new housing development planned for the old school site.

  • Site is elevated and so would be impossible to screen adequately spoiling existing views of the countryside.

  • Site is close to medieval track with ancient woodland hedge and backs on to Swaines Green Conservation area with its ancient deer park.

  • Site is on Green Belt land and the open nature of green belt should be preserved.

  • Site has a history of flooding due to sloping and inadequate sewerage pipes. The placement of hard standings would only exacerbate this.

  • Light pollution in a semi rural place could not be overcome by screening or landscaping

  • Site size is inappropriate for the settled community with some just meters from the boundary. 15 pitches could generate a population as dense as 100 or more which would dominate the settled community

  • The Epping infrastructure will be stretched almost to breaking point with the confirmed new homes development at St Margaret’s. Primary medical health care and education will not be able to cope.

**Right of way and Public Footpath would be compromised by site development.  Epping County Council feel that public rights of way crossing or bordering the land would be inappropriate for use as Gypsy/Traveller sites. Highways Act 1980 (section 130)
